Zeldzame pre-A Knickscheibe van Porsche, een van de slechts circa 1.300 gefabriceerde cabriolets, prachtig gerestaureerd en in een bijzondere en originele kleurencombinatie. Het Sandgrau met het rode lederen interieur en de lichtbruine kap geven de auto een mooie jarenvijftiguitstraling. Dit is een van de laatste Knickscheibe cabriolets zonder de claxonroostertjes, wat deze Porsche krachtig in zijn eenvoud maakt en daardoor erg begeerd.
In februari 1954 is de Porsche geregistreerd door dealer Hoffman in New York. Eind jaren tachtig is de auto in Italië technisch en qua carrosserie uiterst vakkundig gerestaureerd. Dat is onder meer te zien aan de werkelijk perfecte passing van de panelen. De 1.500-motor is van het correcte type en is opgebouwd volgens de juiste specificaties. In 2018 zijn het interieur en de kap gerestaureerd volgens de Farbmusterkarte van Reutter (gaat bij de auto) en zijn er kleine imperfecties weggewerkt.
De auto staat op EU-kenteken en de Porsche-geboorteakte gaat erbij. Deze Porsche behoort tot de eerste serie 356’s, de ‘Pre-A’, een (niet-officiële) benaming die is ontstaan omdat later de A-, B- en C-series werden geïntroduceerd. De nu zeer gewilde Knickscheibe was in 1953 de eerste Porsche met een ééndelige voorruit. Deze 356 biedt een unieke kans om een zeldzaam en historiegetrouw gerestaureerd exemplaar te bezitten uit de beginjaren van het legendarische merk.

Rare pre-A Knickscheibe Porsche, one of only around 1,300 cabriolets built, beautifully restored and presented in a distinctive and original colour combination. The Sandgrau exterior with red leather interior and light brown soft top give the car a charming 1950s appearance. This is one of the last Knickscheibe cabriolets without the horn grilles, which lends the Porsche a powerful simplicity and makes it highly sought after.
In February 1954, the Porsche was registered by Hoffman, the well-known dealer in New York. In the late 1980s, the car was expertly restored in Italy, both mechanically and in terms of bodywork. This is evident in the exceptionally precise panel fit. The 1500 engine is of the correct type and has been built to the proper specifications. In 2018, the interior and soft top were restored according to Reutter’s Farbmusterkarte (included with the car), and minor imperfections were addressed.
The car currently has EU registration and comes with its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. This Porsche belongs to the earliest series of 356s, the “Pre-A,” a non-official designation that arose when the later A, B, and C series were introduced. The now highly desired Knickscheibe was, in 1953, the first Porsche to feature a one-piece windscreen.
